Pit Stop at the Planetarium

Last night we went out with Raf, Claudia (does that surprise you?), John Boy and Becky. We met up at Little World...it's this hole in the wall Chinese food place in downtown Salt Lake. Place doesn't look like much, but the food was amazing. After that we had planned to go ice skating at this outside rink downtown. We got there, took a look at the living room sized rink that was packed and started to re-plan. We decided to go to the nearby planetarium to look around...that's where all the pictures are from. Decent place. We ended the night at Nielsen's Frozen Custard. This is the same franchise as the one in Vegas....but not nearly as good. Seriously! For the real deal, a trip to Vegas is a must.

Pumpkin Time

Mandy and I got our lil' pumkin over at the Creamery and carved our favorite facial expression on it! We had some sweet Halloween plans but had to cancel them in order to pack our stuff and move...again. We are addicted to moving...it's sad - but oh so fun!

ESPN's College Gameday Visits Provo

BYU hosted TCU a couple of weeks ago (sadly lost the game) and also played host to ESPN's College Gameday crew for the first time. Mandy, being the great wife she is, accompanied me to the set at 6 am. We got Beanie and her friend Justin to go with us. It was a great experience. It was wicked crowded and loud...the Gameday crew said they loved being in Provo and were surprised at the turn out. I posted a few of my favorite signs that were in the crowd.

Weekend in Vegas

BYU was playing UNLV in Vegas so Mandy and I decided to get Raf and Claudia to drive down with us. It's convenient that our go-to couple is related...in a round about way. We were able to stay with Jay and Lena and got to spend quite a bit of time with them. We got a crazy golf cart tour of UNLV campus from Jay (he's not licensed to drive those thing on campus...and it shows!!!), went to The Rain Forest Cafe (which cost Mandy future privilege of choosing where to eat...NOT a great place to get lunch), the BYU/UNLV game and a Vegas favorite - Nielsen's Frozen Custard! Mandy, Claudia, Raf and I got to spend a day hitting the strip. We obviously went to Mandy's favorite place - The M&M Factory and then the girls wanted to hit up the arcade in Excalibur. It was a good trip and it was nice to see BYU beat up on UNLV.

Family of Cats

Mandy's Mom, Cindy, is always yelling at their cats or complaining about them. So, one night a little plan was hatched and a few months later it was delivered. We took pictures of all the cats doing the things Cindy hates the most (cats in the sink, drinking out of the toilets, in her bed, etc.) and a few other "candid" shots and then printed them off. We did all different sizes and replaced every family related picture in the house with a picture of a cat. There were about 80 in total that we did. It was hilarious. Mandy took a few pictures of some of the final products so we could post them here. It was hilarious. The night Cindy and Jim got home, Mandy and I hid in the basement. It took them about five minutes to notice the pictures...then we could hear them finding more and saying things like "There's more!"; "Those idiots!"; "Have you seen this one?"; and my favorite, "I'm going to kill them!"

It was so worth it.

BYU vs. Utah State

Last night was the BYU vs. Utah State game. BYU ended up winning 35-17. It was a pretty good game. I have really enjoyed my internship so far. This picture is from last nights game. It is courtesy of University Photography. Bronco looks intense! He is a great coach. It is awesome to be around the coaches at BYU and learn from them. Good times.

PARK CITY GET-A-WAY!

Last weekend Ryan decided that we needed a little mini vacation since we haven't been able to spend much time with each other between work, school, football and Ryan finishing up his admission application for the advertising program. Of course we had to bring our good friends Raf and Claudia...we had a blast!! Ryan was so sweet and got reservations for spa pedicures at this really cute spa up there in Park City for Claudia and I while Raf called and got the boys reservations for their tee time at a nice golf course! We were able to do the alpine slide which was really fun and we also made time for plenty of shopping and of course at the end of our busy first day we got to relax in a nice huge hot tub! It was the perfect mini vacation! Thanks Raf and Claudia for coming with us!!

CALFORNIA

In August I went all by my onesie to California to play with My sister Melissa, her husband Justin and their cute little baby Elliette. We had so much fun walking around the harbor, watching the sea animals, we saw a TON of jelly fish right by the side!! We found out thanks to yours truly that Elliette absolutely loves cotton candy, chocolate, balloons and ice cream!! Elliette was cracking me up running around chasing the pigeons and just being so stinking cute!! She seriously get so much attention and she just smiles and waves, I love it! Anyway, that was my trip!

USA Basketball Showcase

On Saturday night, Jay and Lena got a sitter for the kids and we all went on to dinner then to watch USA Basketball play a blue and white scrimmage. It was a showcase game for the end of a camp/tryout they had for the new USA team. It was a great game...both teams were made up a lot of the NBA's future stars...such as Derek Rose, Kevin Durrant, O.J. Mayo, Rudy Gay, Devin Harris, Josh Smith, and Greg Oden. It was a great game...full of alley-oops and dunks. After the game Jay and Lena introduced us to Nielsen's Frozen Custard...wow. If you're ever in Vegas or St. George go get you some!
